Here’s a recipe for Palak Paneer, a popular Indian dish made with spinach and paneer

2 cups fresh spinach leaves, washed and blanched

200 grams paneer, cut in cube shape

2 tablespoons oil or ghee (clarified butter)

1 medium-sized onion, finely chopped

2-3 garlic cloves, minced

1-inch piece of ginger, grated

2 green chillies chopped

1 teaspoon cumin seeds

1 teaspoon garam masala

1/2 teaspoon turmeric powder

1/2 teaspoon red chili powder (adjust to taste)

1/4 cup fresh cream (optional)

Salt to taste

Water (as needed)

Please follow our Instructions:

1.Heat water in a pot and bring it to a boil. Add the spinach leaves and blanch them for about 2 minutes. Drain the spinach and rinse it under cold water to retain its green color. Blend the blanched spinach leaves into a smooth puree. Set it aside.

2.Heat oil in a pan on low heat. Add cumin seeds and let them splutter. Then, add the finely chopped onions and sauté until they turn translucent.

3.Add chopped green chillies, ginger and garlic. Saute it till it smells a little.

4.Now, add the turmeric powder, red chili powder, and garam masala. Mix well and cook for a minute.

5.Add the spinach puree to the pan and mix it with the spices. Let it simmer for 4-5 minutes on low heat, allowing the flavors to blend together.

6.Meanwhile, you can shallow fry the paneer cubes in a separate pan until they turn golden brown. Alternatively, you can also fry them in oil or ghee.

7.Add the fried paneer cubes to the spinach mixture and gently mix them together. Simmer for another 2 minutes to allow the paneer to absorb the flavors.

8.If desired, add fresh cream to the palak paneer for a creamy texture. Mix well and let it heat for some time. You can adjust the consistency of the gravy by adding water as needed.

9.Taste the palak paneer and add salt according to your preference. Stir well and mix it.

10.Remove from heat and serve hot with naan, roti, or steamed rice.
